Sentosa - Beaches and Underwater World

Beach at Sentosa
As I had already visited Resort World Sentosa, I decided to also visit "normal" Sentosa. In fact Sentosa is nothing more than a party island with beaches, beaches, clubs, attractions and again beaches. If you are trying to have a nice time on Sentosa you must prepare yourself to spend a LOT of money! Exclusive this and exclusive that... and of course you have to pay for all this exclusiveness. As I was a bit sick that specific day I only did two things on Sentosa, namely Underwater World and a walk along the south shore. For the walk itself, I can be very short, nice bounty-like beaches. Moreover I have visited the south most point of continental Asia, which happens to be on Sentosa. I can imagine that if you like to spend your holidays at the beach, one can entertain himself very well at the beaches of Sentosa. For me, it was nice to see but I do not very much like the beach so... been there done that.

As I first visited Underwater World on Sentosa, after entering the island, I walked tried to walk to the entrance of the attraction, as the bus stop had magically disappeared. Another reason can be the fact that the large arrow pointing to a specific location was pointing in the wrong direction. Well, one way or another I had to climb the mountain situated on Sentosa and it was really damp that day. All in all I arrived at Underwater World after taking the bus at the next stop.
Coral with some fish
At the entrance I, of course, had to buy a ticket. So I "Q"-ed like prescribed everywhere in Singapore, and after a minute or 2 I could approach the counter. While trying to buy a ticket some &*%@#*@% pushed me aside and started to buy tickets. Luckily the girl at the counter continued helping me. By the way she did not had any other choice as she was already charging MY credit card. Still that %&^$^$* did not get the clue and I had no intention to enter my PIN number while he was still at so close a distance. I really do not get that the rest of his family did not say anything about it or why he did not move. Eventually he pushed somebody else away at another counter. I will not go into detail about the origin of the family, but "their kind" is always doing everything which is or forbidden or considered rude in Singapore.
Pink dolphin
Finally I could enter Underwater World and I could leave it withing 15 minutes. 25 SGD it had cost and it is so damn small. There is one main attraction, which is a travelator which guides you through a massive tank and that is all. Some small aquarium like thanks with cute fish to pet were also present, but if I wanted to pet a goldfish I would have gone somewhere else. Note that there were also shows given with dolphins and seals, but these shows are, according to the ticket, complementary and therefore it could not be guaranteed that one could see the show. Therefore, if one gives such a description, I find it not a part of the attraction. I must say that the shows were nice and the travelator experience was also quite unique, but 25 SGD is a lot of money in Singapore and you do not get that much in return.

Oh.. beetje een ervaring die dag die maar 'zo zo' was dus. Heb je wel een lonely planet of ander boek of andere bron, zodat je een beetje weet wat de moeite waard is?
