Singapore Flyer

Singapore Flyer
Today the Singapore Flyer was on the program, or at least I had bought tickets to ride the Flyer today! The weather was a bit disappointing as it had been raining since the early morning. So maybe not the best day to ride the world largest observation wheel.
Upon entering the building which surrounded the Flyer I immediately encountered the overpriced food and drink stalls you can find anywhere in Singapore near tourist attractions. I think that if you stay near the City and you only eat out near tourist attractions, Singapore can be a very expensive city! In the building they also build a relaxation garden to overcome you fears and find inner peace before riding the Flyer.

After some relaxation in the garden, sitting near the waterfall, I decided it was time to ride the Flyer. Unfortunately just at that moment a group of delegates from a company arrived, so I had to wait another 5 minutes to make sure I would be put in a somewhat less crowded gondola.
And up I went, to the top at 165 meters height, giving a spectacular view over the CBD and the Colonial district of Singapore. It was a pity that the gondolas still were stained with raindrops, so the view was sometimes not that clear! But still I could make a lot of pictures, and even a panorama which I have included at the bottom of this post. Thanks to Photoshop for stitching the photos together to one big overview! Somehow there is one glitch in the photo which I do not seem to get rid off, but what the hell, it is still a nice picture if I may say so!

Ain't it high?!
Solid construction, or so I hoped!
