Universal Studios Singapore - Hollywood and New York City

Universal globe
April Fools day. What better day to go to Sentosa Resort World. Or to be more precise Universal Studios Singapore, which is only a part of Sentosa Resort Worlds, which again is only a part of Sentosa. Get it?
This theme park has just been opened, so everything was brand new! By the way this theme park really has to right to be called a THEME park. There are other few parks which really can interest people with the way they look, for instance Efteling and Disneyland.
I will try my best to describe this park as good as possible, but I think it will be difficult to express some thing in words.

Hollywood
Upon entering, the first part of the theme park you encounter is a replica of a part of Hollywood. In this part only shops and restaurants are found, with of course your typical "how high can I price stuff such that people still buy it and we have lots of profit"-shops. One of those was the Universal Shop which has everything regarding the studios, even some movies you can find for 5 euros on the internet. Well not in this shop!
Although not very interesting if you do not want to buy or eat, the theming is magnificent. In this photo you can see the details of the street and the way they tried to recreate a part of Hollywood.

New York
Next, by the way I went anticlockwise, I entered New York City. In this part also a lot of restaurants were present, like your typical New York pizzeria. Also a replica of the New York library was present. Now that I think about it, the whole scene looked like the part out of The Day After Tomorrow at the moment the New York City is overrun by water. Well, cannot be as this film is not from Universal.
Also present in this section of the theme park is the attraction Light, Camera, Action. Which is a simulation of a huge storm hitting New York City hosted by Steven Spielberg. The goal is to let people undergo the magic of special effects. Upon entering the stage is empty and whole, but after the show everything is broken and shattered. While leaving the show, everything return to its original place. It was very interesting to see, but of course it is not like the real special effects!
Alley of New York
In New York City also look-a-like actors were present, of course from Universal films, with who you could take a picture. A "professional" photographer would take the picture with your own camera, for FREE. The last interesting thing in New York was the theater which housed the Monster Rock show. The show itself was not that thrilling. It was alright, but it did not get me; Maybe too tired?! Maybe singing monsters is not my thing?!

I already see where this post is going, or must I say to what length! Therefore I decided to split the post into several shorter posts. This one has everything covered of Hollywood and New York City. The other posts will cover the other parts and the Hollywood After Hours. So please be on the look out for new posts regarding Universal Studios Singapore!
