Day 3, a day of disappointments... First off, the clock tower of Prague in the old town. The face of the clock itself is very nice. And the tower itself is worth a small visit, but I would suggest not to wait for the "big show". Every hour there is supposed to be a show. My god, what a piece of... 45 seconds it takes to open a small door, show some figures and close the doors again. Nothing more, nothing less... Thousands of people, shoving and pushing to have the best view... Only to see a couple of figurines pass by, while the rest of the square is as beautiful as it gets. And the most annoying part is that all the people start clapping afterwards.
After the clock and the square, we headed to the west of the city in the direction of the Powder Tower, the Symphonic Orchestra Building, the Jeruzalem synagogue, the main train station and Wenceslas Square. It was quite the walk, but worth it. Although Wenceslas Square is quite famous, I think it is not the highlight of the city. The only nice building in the neighbourhood is the Grand Hotel Evropa. The rest is just McDonald's and Starbucks. It is also quite crowded and dirty.
Walking into the direction of the Dancing House, we found another small park and a nice looking church. I will try to add some more details, after I checked the exact location of the square and church.
After a couple of minutes looking at the Dancing House, which is nothing more than a modern looking building with a lot of curvature, we ended our afternoon by walking half an hour in the botanical gardens of Prague.
As the day was a bit of a disappointment, as everything we visited was not as grand as expected or envisioned in the travel guides, we decided to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe. The food was nice and the atmosphere was nice, but overall a bit expensive.
