Bukit Timah

Today I have been tot the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. It is one of the many nature reserves of Singapore. This one is located around the Timah Hill. Apparently it was only 3 kilometers away from my hostel... nature is all around. There are 4 or 5 trails and 1 mountain bike trail for visitors to join. During my "investigation" I saw that most trails lead to the summit of the hill, thus I decided to do the trail of 2 hours, as that would lead me for more kilometers through the rain forest.

After arriving at the location, I took a second look at the trails. This time I saw that the trails ended at the summit. So 2 hours for you to go up, and again 40 minutes (shortest trail on the map) to go down.
Well, not exactly, cause it took me, to do the 2 hour trail and the 1 hour and 40 minutes trail, exactly 1 hour and 30 minutes. I do not know what kind of walking speed they use in Singapore, but apparently not one that is very accurate. Of course it does not matter, it was the nature experience that counted, but it was thus rather short.
After reaching the visitors center again, I went to the adjoined park to see a really huge cliff. According to the map it was due to a (former?) quarry, so I will take this for granted. Again, also according to this map, the walking time to this cliff should be four times as long as the time I did to get there.
Well, all in all it was very nice to see such a nature reserve, and maybe I will visit another someday soon!
